Major: International Law
As you can see from the picture, the young man likes music and he once performed at the foreign student party. He shares the room with Henig and Donald.
From the conversation, Henig told us that he and his friends have been to Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo, Beijing, Sanya, Haikou, Yiwu, Guangzhou and many other cities. Like Donald, he visits some places because of the school organization and during vacation time. Talking about memories during china, what impressed Henig most was the trip to Suzhou, because on that day he was granted a scholarship for his PHD studies by the International Student Office of ECUPL. His favorite city is Nanjing.
When mentioning his country, Henig introduced that Congo is a country like China with a very diverse culture where people's favorite hobbies are singing and dancing. Congo is like Cuba in the Americas. It is the heart of Africa. Congo basin is in the northern part of the country.
Same family member has similar likes. Like roommate Donald, he loves Chinese food. Henig especially likes hot pot and he cooked a hot pot for dinner on the day of the interview. Henig said he would choose to stay in Shanghai after the completion of his PHD. Although he must endure the pain of separation from his family, fortunately he has already been living here for 4 years away from my family. He believes that the family visit each other is not a problem.
iews with two students, I have asked the two students’ view on our WeChat platform “study at ECUPL”. The feedback is that they know the platform and it's a good idea. They can use it to get information and other things related to ECUPL. What’s more, they also put forward some suggestions. For example, Donald thinks that the platform can have some topic about law like a kind of law journal because our university is a law school. This can help students to improve the legal writing skills.
During the interview, I really learn that the two students do their best during the study life. We can know that they are carefully arranged their occupation planning. They both choose to get the PHD.
At last, give our best wishes to them for their success in their studies.
Listen To Our Story ——From The Narration Of Korean Students
As an international student, he/she needs courage to study abroad to overcome many difficulties, including language communication, cultural differences, living habits and so on. And how do they study and live in East China University of Politics and Law?
We have interviewed Yanzi from Mongolia and Louis from France before, this time we get the story from JANG JI HYE and Li Changhe, who came from Korea.
JANG JI HYE and Li Changhe, who came from the beautiful and romantic country - South Korea, came to China because of the reason of their parents’ jobs. They completed high school in China and learned Chinese. Now, they are sophomores of East China University of Political Science law. JANG JI HYE majored in international law, and Li Changhe choose intellectual property law as a professional direction.
Q: When did you come to China?
JANG JI HYE A: When I was a high school student, I had been in China because my father came to work in here. So, I came with him and completed high school here.
Li Changhe A: Because of my father's work, I came to China. However, I went to Chongqing, and spent three-year high school life in Chongqing. I also learnt Chinese in high school, and my tutor taught me. She is a language teacher, so she can teach me very well. Without her help, my Chinese can’t reach the level like now.
Q: Why choose East China University of Political Science and Law?
JANG JI HYE A: I think living abroad and studying abroad need to understand a country's legal system. East China University of Political Science and Law as an outstanding school in the field of law, I think it is a very good choice. At the same time, it is also located in Shanghai which is a bustling city, like Seoul, there are lots of opportunities, the platform is also very good.
Li Changhe A: I think lawyers are very cool! At that time, I saw several films about the law of South Korea, which was deeply rooted in my heart. Till the third year, I decided to choose the law as my major in my university. The professional recognition of East China University of Political Science and Law is very high, then I leave from Chongqing to Shanghai for study.
Q: You guys have been in China nearly five years, what changes in these years impressed you most?
JANG JI HYE A: I am surprised that China is developing so fast. No, more like an admiration. China's economic development is not as some other countries have a serious economic bubble, the pace of economic development is admirable, the construction of infrastructure is also very perfect, especially in recent years, Shanghai changed largely. Talking about the implementation of laws and regulations, with the emergence of public bicycles, parking randomly, trouble of access and other chaos came up, but after the government management of law enforcement departments, it works well. As well as driving without fastening safe belt ... These changes in the rule of law are gradually standardized and improve our lives.
Q: Is there any plan for your future career? Will you stay in Shanghai?
JANG JI HYE A: At present, I have not yet fully determined. There are several options, continue to go to the United States for further study, graduate school, or engage in consular diplomatic work, or enter the large enterprise work, like Alibaba. I think Alibaba Group is powerful and international, if I can enter the company like Alibaba, that’s wonderful!
Li Changhe A: I will choose to stay in China, but it hard to say if I will stay in Shanghai, because my family lived in Chongqing. Moreover, Beijing, Shenzhen and other cities are also very attractive to me. Of course, I will stay in China, because I have been accustomed to the convenient and lively life here.
Q：Except daily homework, what will you usually do?
JANG JI HYE A: I like to travel, like to see the world. Think about it, the world is so beautiful, it would be a pity if do not go out and see. I went to Brazil and Argentina in South America, where I traveled for nearly 24 days, I felt a very different culture and met a lot of very cute people. Many locals have not seen Asians and cannot tell me from Chinese, Korean, or Japanese? One of my dreams is to travel around the world. I will spend my part time on academic forum to earn some of the money as travel expenses, so I can go to any place I want to go!
JANG JI HYE A: When it comes to hobbies, I am relatively simple guy, I like singing, playing games and playing majiong with my friends. Speaking these, this is still high school students teach me. I have met a lot of very good friends in my high school, my hobby is to stay with good friends.
In the interview, we learn many stories from JANG JI HYE and Chang He, and their love for legal knowledge, understanding and familiarity with Chinese life, planning direction for the future, as well as their interests. As a sophomore , the four-year study life has just begun, they still need to struggle. Wish them would have a happy, full of undergraduate life in East China University of Political Science and Law.
