On January 18th, an online cooperation meeting & the launching ceremony of the China-Nordic Law Center was held between the East China University of Political Science and Law and the University of Oslo(Norway). Dag Michalsen, Co-Director of the China-Nordic Law Center, Ragnhild Hennum, Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Oslo, with Anna Maria C. Lundberg, associate professor of the Norwegian Center for Human Rights, Zhou Yong, research fellow of the Faculty of Law, Mads Andenæs, professor of Private Law, Alla Pozdnakova of the Scandinavia Maritime Law Institute, Kjetil Mujezinović Larsen of the Department of Public Law and International Law, and Ole Kristian Fauchald of the Pluricourts-Center for the Legitimate Roles of the Judiciary in Global Order attended the meeting. Chen Jingying, Vice President of ECUPL and Co-Director of the China-Nordic Law Center, Sun Wanhuai, Dean of the School of Law and Criminal Justice, Li Xiuqing and Yu Ming, professors of the School of Law, Yuan Faqiang, Associate Editor-in-Chief of Legal Studies& professor of the School of International Law, Li Jun, professor and Director of the Sociology Unit of the School of Social Development. Zhang Lu, professor and Director of the Environmental Law Unit of the School of Economic Law, Wu Qiaofang, Director of the International Exchange Center and Ma Le, Deputy Director of the IEC attended the meeting.
At the event, the China-Nordic Law Center is officially inaugurated to facilitate future researches concerning Chinese and Nordic laws.
Chen Jingying thanked the long-standing support of the UiO and pointed out that the Center will be dedicated to the legal studies of China and the Nordic countries collectively and comparatively, starting from translating the publications of Nordic laws, undertaking China-Nordic law research projects, and holding regular seminars on a rotating basis.
Ragnhild Hennum, Dean of the UiO Faculty of Law, as well as Dag Michalsen, former Dean of UiO Faculty of Law and the foreign Co-Director of the Center expressed gratitude to ECUPL in organizing this online conference, and expected more substantive results to be achieved under the Center established.
