Empowering International Students——A Meeting to Foster Support and Inclusion

A symposium was held by international school on May 18th to provide guidance to aid studentsin designing their academic and personal life, as well as , gain a deeper understanding of their challenges. The meeting included representatives from second and third year undergraduate students and teaching staff of international school. Educational advisor Wang Tian, full time teacher Duan Shali and teaching secretary Quan Lina participated in the meeting.

During the symposium, teachers gave an orientation speech to share with students very practical information regarding the international talent development program, course selection system and examinations. Student representatives actively expressed their concerns around every aspect of their campus life and educational experience, ranging from curriculum arrangement, teaching quality, academic planning, student activities and etc. The present teachers listened with attentiveness and responded to those questions and concerns raised with patience and understanding. They joined together with students in a heated discussion to figure out more effective ways to support students in adapting to their academic life at ECUPL.

This symposium serves as a casual and engaging activity, which helps facilitate the in-person connections between international students and faculty members. It also plays a crucial role in building a more appealing teaching and learning environment, thereby enhancing the quality of education within the college, and demonstrating an active approach to embrace the education assessment.

Our international students are valued members of our community. The international school will continue in its effort to make valuable contributions for the cultivation of international talents.
