On September 6, 2025, our university kicked off the new academic year by welcoming the Class of 2025 at a ceremony held in the Songjiang Campus gym. The International School brought its new international students to the event, which was buzzing with a warm and vibrant international vibe.
The event underscored the university's strong commitment to its internationalization strategy and its support for international students. President Professor Xiao Kai attended the activity and engaged in warm, friendly conversations with new students and their families from around the world. On behalf of the university, he extended his heartfelt welcome to all incomingstudents, thoughtfully inquiring about their adjustment to life in China and encouraging them to immerse themselves in the academic and campus culture of ECUPL. President Xiao emphasized that ECUPL is consistently dedicated to an open and inclusive educational philosophy, striving to provide all students with high-quality educational resources and cross-cultural exchange platforms. He expressed his hope that the international students would achieve academic success and become outstanding ambassadors promoting friendship and exchange between China and the rest of the world. Staff from the International School, including admissions officers, academic coordinators, and student advisors, worked together throughout the event to provide one-stop supportive services―from check-in and registration to consultation―ensuring a smooth and efficient welcoming process.
The welcoming event gathered new students from dozens of countries and regions around the world―including Russia, France, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, South Korea,Vietnam, Canada, Spain, and Australia―all coming together as the Class of 2025.Young faces from different continents and cultures filled the gym with laughterand conversation, vividly reflecting the vibrant and diverse international character of our campus.
A well-organized check-in area was set up at the venue, where teachers and student volunteers greeted everyone with smiles. They warmly assisted each newstudent with registration and handed out carefully prepared "welcome kits." These kits included practical items like campus life guides and stationery, as well as small gifts featuring traditional Chinese culture, ensuring that our university’s warmth and support were felt from the very first moment students stepped onto campus.
The enrollment of international students for the 2025-2026 academic year has been largely completed. Compared to the 2024 academic year, there has been a significant increase in the total number of students admitted.
