International School Holds Legal Awareness Lecture for International Students to Strengthen the Safety Line for Studying and Living in China

To effectively strengthen the legal safety education for international students,standardize the behaviors of foreign students in terms of residence and campus life in China, and protect their personal and property safety as well aslegitimate rights and interests, the International School held a special legal awareness lecture in Jiying Building on April 29th. The lecture was specially invited to be delivered by a police officer from the Exit-Entry Administration Corps of Shanghai Public Security Bureau, and all international students participated in the training.

During the lecture, combined with the actual situation of international students studying and living in China, the police officer explained key contents such as laws and regulations, exit-entry administration, visa and residence,accommodation registration, fire safety, travel safety and prevention of telecom fraud. The police officer elaborated on the services that international students must handle in a timely manner after entering China, how to apply fora residence permit, how to apply when the visa status changes, and the handling of overstay violations.

Regarding campus and holiday safety, the police officer emphasized that smoking, illegal use of high-power electrical appliances and lithium battery charging in dormitories are strictly prohibited. When going out, students must abide by traffic rules, stay away from drunk driving, unlicensed cabs and crowded crowds, enhance anti-fraud awareness, not trust unfamiliar calls, not disclose personal information, and not transfer money at will. At the same time, the police officer explained the law through real cases, clarified the legal consequences of behaviors such as illegal residence, illegal employment and drug involvement, and reminded international students to adhere to the bottom line of the law. The training site had active interactions, and the police officer answered the common questions of international students one by one,such as visa, accommodation registration and leave school registration, with practical content and strong guidance.

This legal lecture has effectively improved the legal awareness and safety prevention ability of international students, laying a solid foundation for maintaining campus safety and stability and ensuring that international students spend their holidays and studies in China safely. In the future, the International School will continue to carry out regular legal and safety education, continuously improve the level of management and services for international students, and create a safe, orderly and reassuring learning and living environment for them.
